Save Our Coast volunteers organised litter clean-ups of beaches including Caves Beach (26 Oct 2019) and South Bar Beach in Newcastle (9 November 2019) at the Mattara Surf Classic.

Caves Beach Seaside Scavenge

We had a wonderful day at beautiful Caves Beach at the Seaside Scavenge. Whilst braving the wild winds and heat, “we managed to clean up 61kg of litter from Caves Beach!” Josh from Seaside Scavenge tells us, including hundreds of pieces of plastic and cigarette butts, that would otherwise have ended up in the ocean, harming marine life and our ocean. So many great conversations too! – and new collaborations.. Thanks to all of you who attended (from near and far!) and volunteered to help save our coast from rubbish and plastic pollution.
